New Haven is far enough from NYC to stand on its own. For some reason, Stamford doesn't have any significant gay scene.
They gay scene in New Haven is somewhat more prevalent than in Hartford, yes. My theory is that (a) it's too expensive to live around there, as most gays have lower income jobs (i.e. They gays would rather just bypass Stamford and go to NYC for any nightlife. They are less likely to work in the blue collar fields. They are less likely to work in the blue collar fields.
